Join us at The Frederick Allen Elks Lodge, one of the last standing Black establishments in Saratoga, for a series of open mic events where we invite members (current or past) of Saratoga Springs neighborhoods affected by urban renewal to share their stories, poems, songs and artwork of displacement and gentrification. The first hour of this program will be dedicated to hearing from community members and the second hour will be an open invitation for attendees to participate in art making while we enjoy food, music and community around this effort to envision and record displacement through art. This is a family friendly series of programs and all community members are welcome to attend/participate. Members of BIPOC, Immigrant and LGTBQ+ communities who have experienced displacement are strongly encouraged to participate.

If you are interested in participating as a storyteller, visual, spoken word or musical artist please contact Julie Lewis518-727-7941/julielewis.create@gmail.com
